ABB recently announced the Australian launch of its new ACS2000 air-cooled general purpose AC drive, specifically targeted at fan, pump and compressor applications.
According to ABB Australia, the ACS2000 is suitable for applications where a voltage-matching input transformer is needed or galvanic isolation from the power supply is required. The drive is rated from 400 to 1,000kVA in voltages up to 6.9kV.
The ACS 2000 is said to be able to be used without an input isolation transformer, depending on preference or existing installation. This allows for a direct connection to the line supply (direct-to-line), or it can be connected to an input isolation transformer.
