Compressed air inspections can offset rising energy prices

BOGE offers a compressed air audit service to optimise facility power usage, which it says will dampen the impact of rising energy prices as a result of emissions trading.

The Federal Government’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme will come into effect in 2010. The company says this could lead to more expensive energy.

According to the manufacturer, it can review the energy consumption across all areas of compressed air systems, in order to identify where power savings are possible.

The company claims by repairing air leaks or implementing newer technologies, compressed air systems will use less energy.

Frequency controlled screw compressors are an example of what is considered low carbon technology. These units allow the system to efficiently match energy usage with the fluctuations in compressed air demand.

The manufacturer has also developed a free online energy survey which can estimate how and where potential energy savings can be made.
