COMPRESSED Air Australia says a metal working company has used two EXAIR Model 1106 Stainless Steel Super Air Nozzles to fix a problem with excessive rolling mill ‘oil fog.’
According to Compressed Air Australia, cold rolled steel is sent through a series of powerful rollers during production to compress it to a specific width and thickness. This process heats up the steel, causing the thin layer of oil on its surface to vaporise and create a dense fog.
Compressed Air Australia says the fog can prevent the operator from visually inspecting the steel. The client attempted to blow air across the width of the steel sheet, but this had little effect. Additionally, the open-ended pipes consumed a lot of air and were dangerous.
The metal working company acquired two EXAIR Model 1106 Stainless Steel Super Air Nozzles with Model 9069 Swivel Fittings for aiming. According to Compressed Air Australia, the EXAIR nozzles completely cleared the fog from the area.
Compressed Air Australia claims the Super Air Nozzles caused much less noise and air consumption dropped from 195SCFM to 60SCFM.
