Mini-excavator a hit at QME

CUSTOM Fluidpower has demonstrated its specialised hydraulic technology at the 2008 Queensland Mining and Engineering Expo (QME).

The centrepiece of its stall was a skill test involving basketballs, witches hats and a remote-control mini excavator.

Visitors were challenged to scoop the three balls into a bucket in the fastest time. They used remote-controls to manoeuvre the excavator arm and handle the balls.

One of show’s younger visitors achieved the fastest time of 14.61 seconds.

The company says the technology enhances operator safety, comfort and productivity when applied in an actual workplace.
