SMC Pneumatics says its new tubing range Series TUZ is designed specifically to combat problems which arise from continual energy chain movement.
According to SMC Pneumatics, continual movement can often lead to increased abrasion when using conventional polyurethane tubes in general machine applications. Series TUZ is also suitable to work in tandem with SMC´s One-Touch, Insert, Stainless Steel or Miniature Fitting ranges.
The company says the TUZ tubing has been developed for energy chains which help protect and conveys cables, hoses and tubing for X, Y, Z, sliding and rotational axis motions on machine tools, robots, material handling equipment and industrial machinery.
The SMC Series TUZ tubing is made from special polyurethane material, and tests have proved the TUZ´s wear resistance is increased by over 66% when compared to SMC´s standard TU tubing range in a sliding application. Series TUZ is designed to work at pressures of up to 0.8MPa and at temperatures between -20ºC to + 60ªC.
SMC Pneumatics says its Series TUZ wear resistant tubing is available in six color options and five tube sizes from outside diameter 4 to 12mm. The bending radius of the tubes ranges between 10mm and 35mm depending on the selected tube size.
