Air filtration based on golf ball technology

  • Published: 18/06/2010

DIMAC Tooling has introduced the RECOJET 1 and REVEN Ultra Cleaner mechanical air filtering units which use golf ball technology.

The former air filter is said to be compact, containing an energy-saving fan and a vacuum safety cylinder. It uses the CYCLONE maintenance-free filter system which eliminates the traditional problems of centrifugal separators such as noise, low separating rates and strong vibrations.

The REVEN Ultra Cleaner is for use where smoke and other fine particles need to be removed at a higher volume. Users can add more filters, and all basic elements can be cleaned for reuse.

According to the manufacturer, the filter system is based on the scientific principals which led to the use of dimples on the surface of golf balls. When golf balls fly, the highest pressure applies at its front, and the dimples compensate for this to reduce aerodynamic drag.

The air filtration system has indentations and dimples on the surfaces which are exposed to the airflow. These create miniature cyclones which help optimise airflow and improve separating performance.
