Pneumatic actuation and isolation specialist Air Springs Supply is launching a new range of tiny pneumatic actuators.

Air Springs says the new Firestone 70-P-13 Airomatic Polyactuator is the most compact pneumatic actuator they have ever introduced to Australasia. It stands just 16mm high deflated yet has a stroke of more than 12.5mm.

The Airomatic has a diameter of 76mm and consists of moulded plastic elements welded together in a sealed unit.

“These highly compact actuators have no pistons, rods or sliding seals, so friction, bending, scoring and wear are not a concern,” says Air Springs National Manager Simon Agar.

“They will last for literally millions of cycles without product failure or performance degradation.”

Air Springs says the actuators assist in conveyor transfer sections and roller brakes, but can be used in almost any application requiring very small pressure and stroke.
