JEMTECH has released a device which allows the light curtain guarding on presses to be upgrading without altering the machine’s hydraulics.
The V4SX-PV press controller monitors the movements of the machine. Any unusual motion will cause the machine to shutdown.
The company says this is an alternative method for fitting safety systems on older hydraulic press-brakes. Typically, the hydraulic valves are modified. This is potentially expensive and damaging to the equipment.
According to the manufacturer the controller has interfaces for two light curtains, safety gates and an emergency stop feature. It can be programmed depending on the machine.
