HONEYWELL has launched its HIH-5030/5031 Series humidity sensor, which can provide accurate readings across the entire relative humidity range for air compressors and dryers.
The HIH-5030/5031 Series includes a Surface Mount Device (SMD) product on a tape and reel, which allows it to be used in automated, high-volume pick-and-place manufacturing operations.
According to Honeywell, the HIH-5030/5031 Series requires a low supply voltage down to 2.7V DC and draw low current levels meaning overall power consumption is reduced.
Honeywell says the HIH-5030/3031 Series consists of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)-based humidity sensors that use capacitive technology to provide an analogue voltage output in an SMD package.
According to Honeywell, the sensing element's multi-layer construction provides enhanced resistance to most application hazards such as condensation, dust, dirt, oils and common environmental chemicals.
